SF Fire Credit Union is looking for a Senior Marketing Data and Research Analyst and Research who can conduct research, organize, analyze, and interpret data to drive and support the company's marketing efforts. They will work closely with the VP of Marketing and must be detail-oriented, able to prioritize projects, collaborate effectively, and manage deliverables aligned with business priorities.
The role demands a highly analytical thinker with a strong understanding of the digital media landscape, the ability to craft compelling data-driven narratives, and excellent project management skills. This individual will be responsible for identifying meaningful and actionable trends, establishing best practices based on historical and current marketing performance, and providing insights that influence future planning and decision-making.
This highly collaborative role will also partner closely with teams across Business Intelligence, IT, Accounting, and external agency partners to ensure data is accurately tracked, analyzed, and reported.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Develop and maintain marketing measurement frameworks, including attribution models, funnel analysis, conversion tracking, and performance methodologies to evaluate marketing effectiveness, optimize investments, and improve member acquisition, engagement, retention, and ROI.
  • Analyze marketing, member, and business performance data across digital and traditional channels to identify trends, conversion opportunities, member behaviors, and actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making and campaign optimization.
  • Leverage advanced analytical techniques and statistical methodologies to identify root causes of business and marketing performance trends, uncover opportunities for growth, and provide actionable recommendations that drive strategic decision-making.
  • Lead market research and competitive intelligence initiatives, including member surveys, demographic analysis, peer benchmarking, industry trend monitoring, and market assessments to identify growth opportunities and evolving member needs.
  • Partner with growth, brand, and digital marketing teams to develop and optimize data-driven acquisition, engagement, retention, and product adoption strategies across the member lifecycle.
  • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, automated reporting solutions, and executive scorecards using Power BI, SQL, Python, GA4, BigQuery, Snowflake, and other business intelligence tools to support ongoing performance monitoring and decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data sources, business definitions, reporting methodologies, attribution models, dashboard logic, campaign measurement frameworks, data governance standards, and analytical processes to ensure consistency, transparency, and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Business Intelligence, IT, Accounting, Product, Retail, Digital Banking, and external agency partners to collect, validate, integrate, and manage data from different sources like core banking systems, online banking platforms, CRM systems, website analytics, surveys, and third-party marketing platforms to ensure data quality and reporting accuracy.
  • Translate complex analyses into clear business insights, recommendations, and executive-ready presentations that support marketing leadership, business stakeholders, and strategic planning efforts.
  • Deliver recurring performance reporting, including weekly campaign analyses, monthly business reviews, quarterly trend assessments, and ongoing optimization recommendations.
  • Partner with Marketing leadership to support annual marketing planning and budgeting processes, including budget forecasting, investment analysis, resource allocation recommendations, expense reconciliation, and performance-based optimization to maximize marketing effectiveness and return on investment.
  • Lead special projects, ad hoc analyses, and strategic initiatives that support organizational goals, member growth, and business performance.

What We Look For In You
  • Required: 5+ years of experience in a related role.
  • Required: Ability to work during Pacific Time business hours.
  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Financial services, banking, credit union, or highly regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Snowflake, SQL, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), BigQuery, PowerBI, and other analytics or reporting platforms.
  • Strong understanding of marketing measurement, campaign analytics, audience segmentation, attribution methodologies, and customer lifecycle analysis.
  • Strong understanding of relational database concepts, including data modeling, table relationships, primary and foreign keys, joins, normalization, and data integration principles. Ability to analyze and combine data from multiple sources to support reporting, segmentation, marketing analytics, and business decision-making.
  • Experience gathering and translating business requirements into data file specifications and audience criteria for marketing programs, including campaign targeting, member segmentation, promotional eligibility, and performance measurement.
  • Experience analyzing member/customer behavior, digital engagement, website analytics, and marketing performance to support growth and retention strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience building dashboards, automated reporting solutions, data models, and executive-level performance reporting.
  • Strong market research and competitive intelligence capabilities, including survey design, benchmarking, and trend analysis.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and data storytelling skills, with the ability to develop executive-ready presentations and strategic recommendations.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize projects, collaborate across teams, and manage deliverables aligned with business priorities and with strong quality control and data governance practices.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently while effectively collaborating across cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Salary
This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At SFFCU, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for the San Francisco Market is an annual salary of $107,000 to $160,000.
